Clean, Tidy, Rich

Norway is a rich country. It's noticeable when you are walking through town and the small farm village looks like a rich ski resort in the States. Or that the inhabitants of this small farming town drive Mercedes, BMW's, and Lexus's. Or when I went to get money out of the ATM and the fast cash options started at $1000.00. Or when I went to the store to buy one tube of toothpaste, one small bottle of face lotion, and Q-tips and the total came to $37.00!

Norway, Stavanger anyways, is very clean and tidy and at first glance almost seems fake. Upon closer inspection I realized that there are some imperfections such as graffiti on the side of buildings (not art graffiti but stupid initials and the equivalent of the graffiti you see on highway overpasses). Clean is nice, clean is pretty but I kind of miss the rawness of messy streets of America. I prefer the chaos to the calm.

  1. Any time you go on a trip and come home with a "rat story" you know it was a good time.
