Scratch that, reverse it
Okay, I'll admit it, I was a bit too harsh on the winter sun a few posts back. I'll say this for myself, I was sick with a bad cold (on my day off) and I was a wee bit cranky. I've been working inside the past few days where I've been sniffling, coughing up a lung, and blowing my nose like it's going out of style. I've been hovering around the fire and avoiding the outdoors as if I'm allergic to fresh air. My not going outside was getting kind of ridiculous and I committed to going out to chop firewood...yes even though I am suffering from this massive head cold. I put on my coat with a mumbled sigh and shuffled out the front door when, WHAM! it hit me, the brilliance of the day. The air that met me was cool but refreshing. I took a deep sigh to get as much of it as I could. Yeah, I broke out into a scratchy cough, but damn it, I didn't care. It felt great.
But back to the sun. Yes, it was low in the sky but there was nothing grey about today. The sea was reflecting the vibrant blue of the sky, there wasn't a cloud in sight, and the sun was making everything shimmer as if made of diamonds. The sun was warm and warmed me as I worked. I felt the promise of spring. Snow is melting, grass is stretching out, and I'm one hopeful gardener.

Oh great pictures! Poor sun. I'm always complaining about the winter sun.
